Entrepreneur Joins Pioneer of Supplemental Education to Help Metro-Atlanta Children
BALTIMORE, April 7 // PRNewswire // -- Sylvan Learning, Inc., North America's most recognized provider of supplemental education, announced today the signing of a six corporate center sales agreement with Chris Nguyen. In addition to the six centers purchased in Dunwoody, Austell, Snellville, Buford, Suwanee and West Cobb, Nguyen will also open two new territories in East Cobb and Duluth. The franchisee's purchase in the Atlanta DMA is part of Sylvan Learning's national growth strategy to convert its corporate centers to local franchisees, while expanding in new and existing territories.
Nguyen is the Managing Partner for DCP Group, LLC, a Baltimore, MD-based technology solutions firm. He has more than 20 years experience in multiple enterprises in the education and training areas. Nguyen was the President and CEO of Caliber Learning Network, Inc. from its inception in 1996 through 2001. Prior to Caliber, Nguyen was the Chief Operating Officer for Sylvan Prometric, a division of Sylvan Learning Systems. While at Prometric, he developed a network of over 2,000 computer-based testing centers within 100 countries and was responsible for managing the operating infrastructure of the company as well as the key clients.
In addition to the six centers and two territories purchased by Nguyen, Sylvan is looking for additional franchisees to purchase five additional corporate-owned centers in the Atlanta DMA. With more than two million students served since 1979, the pioneer of personalized, supplemental education is looking for qualified candidates interested in helping children build confidence and success in school and in life.

There are additional opportunities in hundreds of communities across the U.S. for prospective franchisees to purchase a territory and start their own Sylvan Learning Center. Sylvan also has identified more than 40 existing corporate-owned centers in Dallas, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, Houston, Washington D.C. and Milwaukee that the company is interested in converting to franchised centers. In those markets, interested franchisees have the potential to generate revenue from these existing centers ranging from $200,000 to $1 million.
