Teriyaki Experience 'Heats Up' Houston

Asian Inspired Concept Opening First Restaurant; Feeding Consumer Demand for Fresh, Healthy Foods in Texas

October 28, 2010 // Franchising.com // OAKVILLE, ON – Teriyaki Experience is feeding the demand for healthy dining options, variety and convenience, bringing its sizzling Asian inspired concept to Houston with its newest location at Village Plaza at Bunker Hill.

Complete with a new store design prototype, retooled menu and grilling options, Teriyaki Experience located at 9774 Katy Freeway, is the first of 45 locations slated to open over the next ten years throughout Houston and its surrounding areas.

The expansion into Houston is part of the company's nationwide expansion plan which calls for 600 locations across the nation in the next five to seven years.

"We're excited about bringing our fast and fresh Asian-inspired menu to the Houston area and using the local market to catapult our growing brand into other markets throughout the country," said Nick Veloce, COO for Teriyaki Experience. "As the number of consumers eager to try something novel continues to grow, we are in a great position to be the leader of the Asian quick-serve segment and be a central player in a new era of mainstream dining from coast to coast."

B&G Fit Ventures, a family owned corporation based out of Morgan City, Louisiana, will be responsible for developing Teriyaki Experience in the Houston marketplace. The company is affiliated by common ownership with several additional corporations involved in restaurant related activities, the largest being B&G Food Enterprises, who own and operate directly over 50 Taco Bell and KFC restaurants in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, and have been operating restaurants for over 28 years.

"As more and more consumers begin to realize that fast food doesn't have to be fat food, we look forward to continuing to provide them with an affordable, healthy, delicious alternative to their dining options," stated Greg Hamer Jr., Area Developer for Teriyaki Experience in Houston. "We are all about providing our guests exceptional customer service combined with nutritious and convenient food that supports their active, healthy lifestyle."

Teriyaki Experience offers customers the option of cooking their food with water to minimize calorie and fat content for a more healthy option or with their signature Asian cooking sauce for a more flavorful experience. Using the teppanyaki griddle to prepare meals fast and fresh, sizzling meals are prepared in less than three minutes and right before customers' eyes. The menu features a selection of rice and noodle meals, soups, wraps, salads and sushi. Most menu items have less than 10 grams of fat and contain less than 600 calories.

Each meal combines garden fresh vegetables with all-white meat chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu, and a choice of Japanese steamed rice, yakisoba or udon noodles and topped with the customers choice of Sweet Chili, Pan-Asian Temptation, Reduced Sodium Teriyaki or the famous signature Teriyaki sauce.
