Company Reports Solid Second Quarter Sales
OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb 29, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Sonic Corp. (Nasdaq: SONC), the nation's largest chain of drive-in restaurants, today announced that the company will participate in the Bear Stearns 14th Annual Retail, Restaurants & Consumer Conference, which takes place in New York City, March 4-6. The investor presentation by Sonic's management is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, and will be available to investors via a live audio webcast. A link to the webcast can be found at the investor section of the company's website, http://www.sonicdrivein.com, and the event will be available for replay using that same link for a period of 30 days.
Separately, Sonic reported that the estimated growth in system-wide same- store sales during its second fiscal quarter ended February 29, 2008, remained within the company's target range of a 2%-to-4% increase. Beginning in fiscal 2008, management's expectations for earnings are being provided on an annual basis with updates throughout the year. Sonic expects to report its second quarter financial and sales results after the market close on March 24, 2008. The company will provide an online Web simulcast of its earnings release conference call on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET. During that call, management will comment on Sonic's financial and operational results for the second quarter and first six months of the fiscal year and review the company's outlook for the second half of fiscal 2008. An online replay of the conference call will be available approximately two hours following the conclusion of the live broadcast and will continue through April 24, 2008.
