Portion of opening day proceeds to benefit the Alzheimer's Association; Local franchise group to develop several bakery-cafes in area
May 19, 2008 // Franchising.com // Agoura Hills, Calif. - The fresh bakery-cafe experience of Bruegger's has officially arrived in Agoura Hills. The Rolling Bagel, Inc. franchise group, led by principals Stephen Lindemann and Brad Van Gundy, opened Agoura Hills' first Bruegger's bakery-cafe. The new bakery is located in the Agoura Hills City Mall at 5879 Kanan Road.
To celebrate the occasion and thank the community for its support, a portion of opening day sales will be donated to the Ventura County Office of the Alzheimer's Association.
To mark the occasion, a ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Agoura Bruegger's president David Austin and franchisee Stephan Lindemann. Also participating in event were representatives from the City of Agoura Hills, Alzheimer's Association and the Agoura Hills Chamber of Commerce.
"I am very excited about bringing Bruegger's to my hometown of Agoura Hills," said Stephen Lindemann, Bruegger's franchisee. "Bruegger's is best known for their delicious bagels and I'm looking forward to bringing authentic boiled and baked bagels to the residents of Agoura Hills."

The new bakery has seating for up to 38 guests and will employ approximately 20 people. The bakery is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The bakery also features free, unlimited wireless Internet access and outside seating.
Kettle boiled first; Bruegger's bagels are baked fresh throughout the day to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger's offers an extensive menu free of artificial trans fats.
