[{start]Nampa, Idaho — Nampa-area business leaders B.J. and Leslie McDougal have announced they are opening a new Winger's Grill & Bar in Treasure Valley.
The restaurant, located at 16250 N. Marketplace Blvd., is the couple's first Winger's franchise. A Winger's franchise in Meridian, Idaho makes the Nampa location the second in the area.
Celebratory events for the June 2 opening will begin on May 30. "We are thrilled to be opening the first Winger's in Nampa and hope the community attends our goodwill events," said B.J. McDougal. "We know that only through integrating the community into our business will we be successful."
On Friday, May 30 through Saturday, May 31, a pre-opening VIP fundraiser at Winger's will be held for the Nampa Family Shelter, which has provided on-site housing for 440 families. All proceeds will go toward the "Feed the Children" fund.
On Saturday, May 31, Winger's will host a Firefighter's Night. Firefighters and their families from the Nampa and Caldwell Fire Stations will be treated to a free meal at the restaurant. "We wanted to show our appreciation to the men and women of the local fire departments by treating them to a night of fun," said B.J. McDougal.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Monday, June 2 at 10:15 a.m. The McDougals will present a check to the Nampa Family Shelter at the event, which Nampa Mayor Tom Dale will be attending.
B.J. McDougal, originally from Salt Lake City, fell in love with the Treasure Valley area and recently moved his family to Nampa in the spring of 2008. "We are very happy to officially be part of the Nampa community," said B.J. McDougal. "This is the start of something great." The McDougals' franchise is operated under the name Idaho Wings LLC.
The new Winger's restaurant will employ more than 100 people. The location includes a summer patio, full bar, plasma televisions throughout the restaurant and seating for 205 guests.
Winger's Grill offers a full-range menu, including sandwiches, salads, burgers, desserts, beer on tap, full bar and of course, Winger's World-Famous Wings and Sticky Fingers.
