BrandAmerica's history includes 24-Hour Fitness, Gold's Gym, Black Angus in Asia
June 03, 2008 // Franchising.com // San Diego, CA —Annex Brands, Inc. a San Diego franchisor of shipping stores, and BrandAmerica, Inc. an international business developer, have signed an agreement to develop the PostalAnnex+ brand in the Asian market.
Annex Brands franchises PostalAnnex+, Handle With Care Packaging Store, Sunshine Pack & Ship and SPS Moving. "We're very excited to work with BrandAmerica in taking the convenience of PostalAnnex+ overseas," said Jack Lentz, CEO of Annex Brands. "BrandAmerica has a strong history of successfully taking American business concepts and introducing them across Asia."
Michael J Sadak, CEO of BrandAmerica said, "We're excited about taking the PostalAnnex+ name abroad. About 90% of new American companies go out of business in their first year of operation while more than 90% of new franchises are still in business after five years. A franchise then seems to be the better path, and we are excited to work with Annex Brands on the development of PostalAnnex+."
BrandAmerica would serve as a partner in finding master licensees in Asian countries. In turn, those master licensees would be responsible for opening PostalAnnex+ franchises within their territory. Sadak believes conservatively there could be 100 new units in 5 years.
"The Asian market is very complex, though." Sadak added. "You can't just march in and start building American franchises. Much of the success of a concept depends on relationships in those countries, and we have years of working with business professionals throughout the region."
Lentz also is excited about the program. "BrandAmerica has a proven track record. 24-Hour Fitness, Black Angus, Gold's Gym…these are just a few of the companies they have helped to develop in Asia. We believe the Asian market is ready for PostalAnnex+ as well."
PostalAnnex+ offers business services such as FedEx, UPS and USPS shipping, private mailbox rentals, copying and printing services, notary public, fax sending and receiving, key duplication, office supplies and related business services.
