BENICIA, Calif., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- 1-800-Radiator, an auto-parts distribution franchise and the largest independent auto parts distributor in the nation, today announced its purchase of B&B Radiator, a family-owned and operated automotive cooling parts business in North Texas and the Houston area since 1972. The Texas company also owns a muffler shop, B&B Muffler, which was not part of the sale.
During its thirty-six years in business, B&B Radiator had seven locations. At the time of sale, it had 44 employees most of whom have been retained by 1-800-Radiator.
B&B owner Larry Boatright said he is selling the radiator shops to give himself the opportunity to pursue other interests.
The B&B purchase adds to 1-800-Radiator's presence in the Texas market. The company currently has 18 franchise locations throughout the state.
"This acquisition is consistent with 1-800-Radiator's strategic direction," said Mike Rippey CEO of 1-800-Radiator. "We are continuing to access new markets that we have identified as key to assuring our growth and leadership position in the automotive cooling parts market."
1-800-Radiator sells radiators, condensers, A/C parts, fan assemblies, gas tanks, heating cores, and other new automotive parts. In almost all cases, the company provides same day delivery to customers at their businesses or homes within a few hours.
Over the last 25 years, 1-800-Radiator has grown from a small $3 million company to one with over $120 million in revenue. The company has outperformed rivals by designing state-of-the-art computer systems to handle marketing, warehousing and purchasing.
