JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Reduces Franchise Fees to Promote Veteran Business Ownership

New franchise price model to facilitate the expansion of JDog into every U.S. zip code.

BERWYN, Pa. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - November 01, 2018 - Less than 5 percent of post-9/11 Veterans own their own business - a statistic JDog Junk Removal & Hauling “JDog” is looking to change. The company is rolling out a new, reduced fee franchise model that makes business ownership more affordable and accessible to the country’s 20.4 million Veterans.

Under the new system, JDog franchise ownership will be available for as little as $10,000, scaling up to $35,000 depending on location and market size. Fixed royalty fees make JDog ownership even more attractive and increase earning potential for franchisees.

“Veterans’ training, work ethic, and leadership experience make them uniquely suited to own and operate their own business,” says Army Veteran Jerry Flanagan, founder and CEO of JDog Junk Removal & Hauling. “And yet so few of them do, either for financial reasons or because they don’t know how or where to begin. Our franchise model overcomes both of those obstacles. It gives Veterans a precise blueprint on how to launch and grow a successful JDog business. At the same time, by reducing the franchise fees associated with less populated markets, we’ve made business ownership a more realistic option for Veterans nationwide.”

Franchises in all geographies, regardless of size, are granted exclusivity to all residents, schools, businesses, military bases, and other institutions within their 25-miles radius. In addition, they receive ongoing operational training, web support, call routing, and other support needed to succeed in business.

The new, tiered model opens up JDog business ownership opportunities in cities such as Juneau, Alaska; Augusta, Maine; Bismarck, North Dakota; and Helena, Montana.

Flanagan and his wife Tracy opened the first JDog business in suburban Philadelphia in 2011, and franchised the company in 2012 in response to high demand. Since then, the company has grown to nearly 200 active JDog franchises across 31 states.

JDog extends its proven operating model exclusively to Veterans and military family members, and at any given time 85-90 percent of active franchises are owned by Veterans. The company provides a familiar ethos and environment for Veterans seeking a career in the civilian world, as well as the opportunity to continue to serve their communities.

“JDog’s ability to gain customer trust and the overwhelming welcome new franchisees receive in their communities are unparalleled,” adds Flanagan. “Americans have an innate desire to help Veterans. They see JDog in our camouflage trucks and military-inspired uniforms, they hear our employees’ stories, and they immediately get behind our brand. The more Americans do so and the more that support our businesses, the more Veterans our franchisees can hire and help.”
