JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Opens 200th Franchise in Boston

BERWYN, Pa. & BOSTON - (BUSINESS WIRE) - November 08, 2018 - JDog Junk Removal & Hauling (JDog), a franchise organization owned and operated exclusively by Veterans and military family members, is celebrating the grand opening of JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Boston, the company’s 200th franchise location.

The milestone comes just seven years after Army Veteran Jerry Flanagan and his wife Tracy launched the company out of a single location in suburban Philadelphia, and caps off a year of 100 percent growth, making JDog the fastest growing junk removal franchise in the country. The company provides residential and commercial junk removal, hauling, light demolition, and other services to 40 million Americans across 31 states.

The 200th franchise is owned by Retired Master Gunnery Sergeant Ray Gagnon, a 25-year Marine Corps Veteran who opened his first JDog franchise, JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Schenectady, in 2016. Following the opening of JDog Boston, Gagnon owns 14 JDog territories across New York’s Capital Region, Atlanta, and Savannah, Georgia, and employs more than 30 Veterans, military family members, and other citizens who share JDog’s core values of respect, integrity, and trust.

“The opening of JDog’s 200th franchise and our expansion into another top-25 market is a significant milestone as we work toward our ultimate goal of opening 1,200 franchises across the U.S.,” said Jerry Flanagan, co-founder and CEO of JDog Junk Removal & Hauling. “This growth would simply not be possible without the unmatched hard work, leadership, and dedication of Veterans like Ray. Their commitment, not only to their business, but to each other, their communities, and to service, has propelled our growth and made JDog a trusted brand nationwide.”

JDog offers Veterans seeking a career in the civilian world a proven operating model, a familiar ethos and environment, and an opportunity to continue to serve their communities. Eighty-five to 90 percent of active JDog franchises are Veteran-owned, and the company has created 1,000 jobs nationwide, including in major metros like Philadelphia, Chicago, and now Boston.

“Boston is known for its history and patriotism, and Massachusetts is one of the most eco-friendly states in America, which makes it an ideal market for JDog’s environmentally conscious junk removal practices and our crew of local Veterans,” said Ray Gagnon, owner of JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Boston. “My long-term vision is to turn this Boston franchise into a regional hub that can support 27 territories and create as many as 75 jobs. I’ve shared Jerry’s vision from day one to employ as many Veterans as possible, and in Boston, we’re off to a strong start.”
