After receiving a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Teacher’s College, she served as an employee of the New York City Department of Education for years. “Teaching the piano requires you to build the concept from the ground up,” said Chan. “Kumon is no different, as an instructor must individualize the program for each student to achieve their ‘just-right’ level of study.”
