Sola Salon Studios Celebrates 15 Year Anniversary!

Since its inception in 2004, Sola has become the largest, fastest-growing salon studio business in the United States with over 450 locations and the business home to over 14,000 independent beauty professionals.

Founded by Stratton Smith and Matt Briger, Sola Salon Studios has stayed true to its mission: to inspire and support beauty professionals to experience the freedom of salon ownership.

On July 12, 2004, the first Sola location opened in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. On that day, Sola co-founders Smith and Briger brought a bottle of champagne to Sola to celebrate. When they walked in, they were surprised to see Kim Bennett, the first stylist to sign a lease in the US, already cutting hair in her studio. They said, "What are you already doing here" Kim replied with "Making money, honey!"

Before 2004 was over, ten additional Sola pros joined and are still part of the Sola community today, The amazling trailblazers include Kim Bennett, Amy Greenhouse, Vicki Campos, Elly Kinnaird, Victoria Jacobsen, Jaylane Long, Nicole Mayoros, James Mortlock, Tammy Turczyn and Brenda Ferguson.
