Hansel Lynn and Wayne Teng Authoring Children’s Coding Books

July 18, 2019 // Franchising.com // Palo Alto, CA - Hansel Lynn and Wayne Teng, long-time friends and founders of theCoderSchool, have released two children’s books focused on coding: Coding with Basher: Coding with Scratch and Coding with Basher: Code Your Own Website in collaboration with Simon Basher and Basher Science.

Set for a July 23 release date, the books show children how to think like coders and how to use coding skills to create real working apps. The books also discuss internet safety, how the internet works, and dive into technology history. Both books are illustrated by world-renown artist Simon Basher.

“I’m thrilled to have collaborated with Hansel and Wayne to create the first Basher coding books,” said Basher. “I’ve found it incredibly interesting and a fresh challenge to create an engaging and fun way to understand this incredibly important area of learning. theCoderSchool has a fantastic track record of opening up the world of coding to young people, and I hope all of the Basher Science readers find it a new and useful way to learn about the fascinating world of technology.”

theCoderSchool was founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng in 2014. The school was built with the desire to provide children aged 7 to 18 with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills. theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript and more.

“We always thought it would be exciting to become published authors,” Hansel and Wayne said in a joint statement. “We are so grateful to Basher for helping us achieve this goal and to continue our mission of bringing coding and science education to children worldwide.”

With more than 35 schools nationwide, Hansel and Wayne have impacted the lives of nearly 15,000 students through helping them find their passion in STEM and coding, and are thrilled to be able to continue impacting children globally through their books.
