Homes & Land Franchisees Honored as the Best in Real Estate Advertising

Homes & Land named to Entrepreneur magazine's Top Home-based Franchises

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Homes & Land is one of America's most visible brands and one of the country's top franchisors. This year, the company celebrates 35 years of providing established advertising results for thousands of North American real estate agents. Homes & Land ranks highly in Entrepreneur magazine's Top Home-based Franchises list, ranking at the top in the real estate advertising category.

The Homes & Land franchise network has grown more than 26 percent over the last three years, bringing the total number of franchises to 340 in the U.S. and Canada. "Our franchisees are the best in the business," says Brian Crawford. "They are committed to their clients, are well-established in their community and continue to deliver proven and innovative ways to market and sell homes."

A number of Homes & Land franchisees have been in the network for more than 20 years and publish multiple magazines. Russ and Cheryl Haskins were awarded their first franchise in Tennessee more than 20 years ago. Today, they operate 10 publications across Eastern Tennessee. Joe Barabino, a previous Homes & Land franchisee has three daughters who became part of the Homes & Land network. Today, they operate six franchises in Delaware, New Jersey and Florida.

The Homes & Land brand is visible in more than 30,000 communities across North America. Its website – HomesAndLand.com – ranks among the top five websites in the 'Multiplatform Advertising' online industry and the top 10 websites in the 'Pure Plays' according to Hitwise. HomesAndLand.com is also the number one real estate search site for affluent homebuyers with more than 65 percent of visitors noting household incomes of $100,000 or more. A substantial portion, 55 percent of visitors, have household incomes of over $150,000.

According to Crawford, the reason for the company's success is attributable to several factors. "We have a long history of established success and stability, we offer ongoing training and support, and each one of our franchisees has a passion for real estate and marketing."

Homes & Land has partnerships and alliances with Zillow.com, HomeGain, Truilia, Yahoo Real Estate, MSN Real Estate, the Wall Street Journal's Realestatejournal.com, the New York Times, Boston.com, Front Door and more, offering extensive reach into national and international audiences of potential home buyers.

The company just relaunched its international website, HomesAndLand.com, adding more online offerings including a link that answers the question: "What's My Home Worth?" This new feature provides instant home valuation estimates to home sellers and buyers from Zillow.com, eppraisal.com, and HomeGain.com.

Franchise businesses are an important component to America's private business sector. According to a study conducted by Pricewaterhousecoopers for the International Franchise Association, there are nearly one million franchised business establishments in the U.S., providing 11 million jobs yearly. Franchised businesses produce goods and services worth $880.9 billion per year in the United States.
