Hotel Indigo Williamsburg Brooklyn to Create a Community and Guest Gathering Place with Neighborhood-inspired Design and Functional Objects d’Art

July 31, 2019 // Franchising.com // NEW YORK - Valor Hospitality Partners have announced the August 2019 opening of the 187-room Hotel Indigo® Williamsburg Brooklyn, in the heart of the vibrant Williamsburg neighborhood. Inspired by the neighborhood’s dynamic art scene and cultural significance, the new InterContinental Hotels Group hotel will be unlike anything else in the borough and will feature ultra-contemporary architecture, sleek interior design, a stunning dual-level restaurant, open-air sundeck and nearly 20,000 square feet of flexible event space. The design approach for Hotel Indigo Williamsburg Brooklyn was intended to create a sense of community inclusion and area history.

New York’s Cl-oth Interiors have drawn upon the area’s rich history and culture to fashion a welcoming space, that invites both the local community and visitors to immerse themselves in Williamsburg’s legacy of designers, curated arts, and industrial past. The design team utilized color, texture, shape, textiles and functional objects d’art to create this city enclave that enlivens the Hotel Indigo signature environment, evoking a unique sense of place. The decor will be complemented by a muted and neutral palette, with pops of color, chrome, illuminated geometric shapes, a myriad of textures – stone, tile, textiles – works of art from local artisans and floor to ceiling windows, that provide natural light and city views. Lush green spaces surround the common area and carry over to the hotel’s pool offering a calming respite from the city.

The hotel’s guest rooms will incorporate elevated finishes, hardwood floors and spa-inspired bathrooms and will include bi-level Loft Suites and a 1,100-square-foot Williamsburg Grand Suite. Some rooms will have large balconies, with views of the neighborhood and the historic Manhattan skyline, just across the East River. Square and circular lighting, an open closet with illuminative closet rods, chrome wrapped beds and one-piece solid black and white marble desks all work together to create accents that are both artistic and practical. Suites will feature local artist, Alex Proba’s stunning and colorful 10’ diameter rugs. The Bridal Suite is a departure from other hotels areas highlighted by warm detailed blond wood paneling, floor to ceiling windows, private balcony, living area, and bath with vanity and soaking tub.

Each piece of furniture and accessory’s shape and design is thoughtful; each is an art installation in and of itself.”

In the entrance, the double height lobby area, with floor to ceiling windows, encourage views of green spaces with a park-like aesthetic. An elongated oval-shaped center bar is a focal point that invites both the community and hotel guests to pass through, mingle and socialize whether for morning coffee, business or evening cocktails. Custom Terazzo floors and local millwork add texture and distinct shape and color while bespoke drapery by Brooklyn craftsman Erik Bruce provides exceptional detail.

The hotel, with architecture by building architects,?Kutnicki Bernstein Architects, will also feature three culinary venues that will offer an experience for every occasion. Led by Executive Chef Chai Trivedi, the hotel’s premier restaurant Kitch is a duel level dining spot, with both indoor and outdoor seating, while the lobby bar Prospect will serve as a hub of activity. The lounge will bring together the spirit of the Williamsburg neighborhood with an edgy vibe that captures the true Brooklyn attitude. Williamsburg Swim Club, the hotel’s stunning, seasonal pool with bar and sun deck, will offer guests poolside cocktails and food from the poolside grill - an island-like refuge for casual dining.

The hotel will also cater to special events, weddings and corporate groups with one the largest meeting and event spaces in Williamsburg including a 6,630-square-foot Williamsburg ballroom, a 2,800-square-foot pre-function space and a 480-square-foot Union Mezzanine that includes a Kosher kitchen. There will also be a private VIP/Bridal lounge with its own facilities. The event area connects to the lobby and follows the Williamsburg story using murals underscoring the historic aspects of the area to seamlessly weave in its story.
