RedLine Athletics Announces Inaugural Lyndsey Simmons Memorial Scholarship

Scottsdale, Arizona-based Youth Athletic Training Franchisor Honors Late Founder With Nationwide Charitable Effort

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (PRWEB) August 05, 2019 - RedLine Athletics, the nation's leading provider of athletic training for America’s youth ages 8-18, today announced the establishment of the inaugural Lyndsey Simmons Memorial Scholarship. Named after the late founder of RedLine Athletics, the $10,000 scholarship will go to support the athletic and educational development of their members across the nation.

"Lyndsey Simmons had a big dream when he started RedLine - he wanted to give back to his community by helping to develop young athletes that would be strong in mind, body, and spirit," RedLine Athletics Chief Executive Officer Chance Pearson said. "With the establishment of this Scholarship, I'm extraordinarily pleased that his name will live on through the financial support of young athletes across the nation."

Simmons, a former minor-league catcher in the farm systems of The New York Mets and Oakland Athletics, achieved his life-long dream of opening up a youth-focused athletic training facility with the original RedLine Athletics in Laguna Niguel, California, in 2005. In the years since, RedLine Athletics has grown into the premier youth athletic training franchisor in the United States. Over 20 RedLine units are currently open across 12 states, with nearly 30 more units in development.

Facilities focus on helping athletes ages 8-18 reach their peak performance through the mentorship and guidance of RedLine Sports Performance Specialists (SPS). Redline's SPS professionals provide custom-designed, sport-specific training programs to make young men and women all-around better athletes, with semi-private, one-on-one training, and group sport-specific training sessions. This training is combined with a heavy emphasis towards injury prevention - through their partnership with the groundbreaking Fusionetics proprietary exercise and recovery solutions system - helping athletes improve movement efficiency while decreasing their risk for injury as they work towards their goals.

The growing scope and impact of RedLine Athletics represents the realization of Lyndsey Simmons' dream for the franchise.

"I can't think of a better way to honor Lyndsey's memory than by establishing this scholarship," Brad Hinkle, V.P. of Operations for RedLine Athletics. "There was nothing Lyndsey liked more than helping young athletes across the nation achieve their goals, both in athletics and in life. This Scholarship will help absolutely do that.”

RedLine Athletics partnered with the public benefit company Kaleidoscope to develop and manage the Scholarship, making the funds available for any RedLine member. Through an intense and competitive application and judging process, RedLine identified six winners across four quadrants of the United States: the Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest. The $10,000 in total funds are split among the six recipients. Funds will be available to be used for any college, public, or private school or athletic camp or athletic clinic.

The Lyndsey Simmons Memorial Scholarship's second edition will occur in 2020, and the scholarship will double in size to $20,000.
