Wag N’ Wash Signs Agreement to Open New Location in Dallas

Local Entrepreneur to Bring Specialty Pet Retailer to Dallas Community

August 23, 2019 // Franchising.com // DALLAS - Wag N’ Wash Natural Pet Food & Grooming, a full-line specialty retail destination for cats and dogs, announced its signed agreement with local entrepreneur Tom Dang for the Northeast Dallas area. The forthcoming location is expected to open early 2020.

A go-to spot for companion animals and pet lovers alike, the Wag N’ Wash in Northeast Dallas will offer self-wash and grooming services, natural food products and fresh-made bakery items that are corn-free, soy-free, wheat-free, preservative-free, with no filler ingredients. As a local owner and operator, Dang plans to oversee daily business operations and immerse himself in the community through various fundraisers and adoption events.

As an animal lover and a guardian to two companion pets, a pug and Somali cat, Tom had a dream to be own a business in the pet industry after retiring from his job in software development. His sister who is an avid fan of the Seattle Wag N’ Wash location let him know about the brand and the franchise opportunity. After a meeting with the corporate team, he found the team feels the same way he does – if you love and care about what you do; you can have a successful business. Tom’s business owner mentality paired with his passion for providing companion pets with the best quality of life will give him the ability to connect with other like-minded Wag N’ Wash guests.

“Dallas is known for being one of the top dog-friendliest cities making it the perfect place for Wag N’ Wash, so my eagerness to open the store continues to grow every day,” said Dang. “I am excited to soon live out my entrepreneurial dream and introducing Dallas to the neatest pet store out there—somewhere to wash ‘em, feed ‘em, spoil ‘em and love ‘em.”

Since Wag N’ Wash’s inception in 1999, the Colorado-based company has been a leading place for pet enthusiasts to find quality goods and services for their pet companions, and simply be pet people. Among the store’s offerings are various brands of all-natural pet foods for dogs and cats, supplements, collars and leads, toys, supplies and unique goods. In addition, Wag N’ Wash’s do-it-yourself dog wash facility is designed to put convenience and fun into the “chore” of washing your dog.

An added bonus for the pups, the store’s in-house bakery features the most rare and delectable treats on the market. From Liver Bites to Pumpkin Ravioli, all of the pies, cakes and muffins are made from human grade ingredients and can be customized upon request.

With nearly 20 stores open throughout the country, Wag N’ Wash is focused on growing the brand in new markets with qualified franchisees who have the ambition and skillset to succeed with the company.

The average investment to own and operate a Wag N’ Wash 3,500-4,200 square foot store is approximately $638,420. This includes the initial franchise fee of $45,000, build-out costs, training expenses, the first three months of rent, furniture, signage, computer equipment, inventory and supplies, initial advertising and grand opening costs. Two- and three-unit agreements are also available to select and qualified candidates.
