First Gamer Doc(TM) Video Game Store in California Now Open

Highland Park Store Features Futuristic Theme and Pro Player Room for up to Eight

September 30, 2008 // Franchising.com // LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Gamer Doc™, the retail video game store that delivers a new and interactive customer experience, today announced the opening of its first store in California, featuring a futuristic theme and a "Pro Player" room. The "Pro Player" room includes wall-mounted, HD flat-panel monitors optimized for gaming, and can accommodate up to eight players for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo or PC games.

"The opening of the first Gamer Doc store in California is very exciting, because we are more than just a video game store, we are an entertainment center," said store owner Jason Renfro. "Consumers of all ages are choosing to play video games as their favorite form of entertainment, from kids and teens to moms and dads and senior citizens, and we are here to meet all of their needs. In addition to video games, we offer HD flat-panel monitors, cables, accessories and more. We will also teach our customers how to hook-up their systems to get the best game play possible."

The Highland Park store is eco-friendly, built from 80% recycled materials, and incorporates solar panels on the roof for generating electricity. Renfro is also initiating a recycle program for e-waste, where used electronics, from TVs to telephones, can be dropped off at the store.

"Our stores are an innovation in retail, and customers will know they're in for a unique shopping experience when they come into Gamer Doc, whether they are new to gaming, or returning store champions," said Jim Belanger, president of Gamer Doc. "The store design is exciting and the layout optimizes customer flow. There are Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo Gamer Centers, featuring the consoles, games and accessories for each system, making it easy for everyone to find what they need. Customers who just want to come in and pick-up, pre-order or rent a game can be in and out very quickly, while those who want to browse, ask questions or sign-up for the Pro Player room can take as much time as they like."

The Highland Park Gamer Doc store is located at 5917 N. Figueroa Street. Store hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
