Neighborhood fitness center franchise supports movement to create a new culture of physical activity
(Monday, May 14, 2007) - 1-2-3 Fit, the emerging leader in neighborhood fitness centers, has entered into a sponsorship arrangement with the American Heart Association to support Start! - a new movement to help Americans improve their health by walking. 1-2-3 Fit offers an industry-recognized, 30-minute workout using revolutionary Simbio™ equipment and differentiates itself through its personalized approach with a supportive staff.
To get Americans up and moving, the American Heart Association has launched Start! to encourage corporations and the workforce to promote physical fitness and break down the obstacles that keep Americans from being physically active. The movement focuses on walking as an activity because it's accessible, free and has the lowest dropout rate of any type of exercise. Each year, Americans suffer 1.2 million heart attacks. Cardiovascular disease and stroke continue to be the nation's No. 1 and No. 3 killers, claiming 870,000 lives each year. Promoting physical activity through workplace walking programs can help employees reduce their risk for heart disease and stroke.

The American Heart Association's premiere fundraiser is the Start! Heart Walk. Heart Walks are fundraisers designed to create opportunities for people to improve their health by walking and simultaneously raising funds to help fight heart disease and stroke. As part of the sponsorship commitment 1-2-3 Fit will be on site to conduct a pre-event warm-up session for the participants at the American Heart Association's Start! Heart Walk in Denver on June 2 at the Denver Performing Arts Center .
