March 04, 2011 // Franchising.com // Houston, tx - Representatives from the rent-to-own industry presented a check to the Carlos Reyna Family, Wednesday, February 16th, at the Gulf Freeway RENT-N-ROLL in Houston to assist with the ongoing healthcare needs faced by the family.

Late last year Reyna, a RENT-N-ROLL Manager, who worked at the Gulf Freeway store - suffered two heart attacks and a stroke and recently emerged from a coma last month.

Reflecting the family spirit of the rent-to-own industry, money was raised industry, money was raised industry wide and through the RENT-N-ROLL network in a coordinated effort by RENT-N-ROLL franchise owner, Larry Sutton, to assist the Reyna family. John Spangle - a RENT-N-ROLL franchisee and Reyna's employer - presented a check for $13,697 to Carlos's wife...

The article follows Sutton's career, from his first company, Champion Rent-to-Own, with nearly 150 stores offering furniture and appliances, which he sold in 1997 to a larger business and founding RNR in 2000.

In 2000, bored from retirement, Sutton heard about a California rent-to-own company specializing in automotive products. September 24, 2008 // Franchising.com // Tampa,Fl, Two new RNR Custom Wheel and Tire stores are headed for Virginia and manager and sales staff are gearing up.

RNR of Virginia, franchisee of RNR Custom Wheels & Tires, plans to open its first store in Norfolk, VA in October and the second this spring in Hampton, VA.

The new company, co-owned by Richard Rose and Jeff Loeb, who also operate 19 Bestway Rent-To-Own stores, has exclusive development rights to Virginia and Washington D.C. markets and the deal calls for the opening of at least 10 RNR stores in those markets, according to Rose.

Nine employees who will head up the two new RNR Virginia stores are completing a four week boot camp this week with RNR owner Larry Sutton at RNR headquarters in Tampa, FL...

September 23, 2008 // Franchising.com // TAMPA,FL, RNR teams up with Fireball Run to sponsor the 2008 Fireball Run Transcontinental Rally, America's Adventurtainment rally. This rally is a nationwide recovery and awareness campaign to help in the search for recently abducted children, and to educate the public to the fact that over 2000 kids are reported missing every single day!

This year's event is a 3500 mile, 9 day transcontinental rally. It starts in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and will zigzag through America to finish in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The event starts on September 26th and ends on October 4th 2008.

Each team makes the journey with an assigned missing child whose image and stats are affixed to the vehicle - creating a "rolling milk carton"...
