Founded in 2011, the Pittsburgh-based company is focused on providing high-quality assistance to those who aren’t able to care for themselves so that they can continue to live a dignified and independent life. Sunny Days In-Home Care goes beyond providing traditional caregiving services, offering clients companionship, travel assistance, and homemaker services. The company’s diverse set of clients includes seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, those who need respite care, people recovering or rehabilitating, and those suffering with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Franchise History

In 2011, David Ellenwood launched his own in-home care company after he witnessed first-hand sub-par performance from companies only in the home care business for financial gain. David became increasingly frustrated because of his belief that people deserved excellent care, first and foremost. In the beginning, David was the company’s first and only caregiver, working around the clock caring for clients and learning their needs. During that time he managed all other functions of Sunny Days, essentially acting as a one-man band for the first few months. Finally, David recruited his wife Evelyn, to quit her full-time job and join him at Sunny Days.
