The Greene Turtle Story:
 The Greene Turtle is Maryland's largest Sports Bar and Grille, with 22 units opened and 12 under development. First opened in 1976 in Ocean City, Maryland as a small beach bar, today "The Turtle" enjoys an iconic brand status in the Mid-Atlantic region. Each location is uniquely designed and positioned to have the feel of a friendly local bar and grille, but benefits from the systems, corporate expertise, menu and awareness of a large regional or national brand.

The Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grille offers a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor as a well-established casual dining concept sets out on an aggressive growth path.Franchising will be our primary vehicle for growth over the next five years. Already, 10 of our 22 restaurants are owned and operated by franchisees. In the future most store will be franchisee operated.

Each The Greene Turtle is a unique facility designed to fit within its community. The décor is sports! From local youth and high school jerseys hanging on the walls to photos of favorite professional teams and players, our guests are surrounded by memorabilia that celebrates our love of "the game." Typically between 6,000 and 7,500 square feet. The dining and bar areas incorporate large-screen TVs broadcasting local and national sports, and each booth offers its own small flat screen TV airing a selection of popular family-friendly programs.
Broad Appeal:
From senior citizens to baby boomers to young families to groups of young friends out for an evening, The Greene Turtle offers broad customer appeal with its food offering, sports environment, televisions and friendly service. Moms and dads know they can bring their small children, sit in a booth, turn on cartoons and enjoy a few quiet moments to themselves.
 Marketing:
Sports are more than a backdrop for our restaurant interiors. They're a connection we have with each of our communities, through which we build brand awareness and loyalty. The Greene Turtle is deeply involved in sports marketing at every level, from sponsoring Little League, independent youth and high school teams to forging alliances with major college and professional teams.
Community Outreach:
The Greene Turtle is immersed in each of its communities and serves as a central gathering place for many community meetings and fundraisers. Through our Funds for Friends program, we have donated over $320,000 back to local organizations. The program is so successful that The Greene Turtle recently was recognized and awarded the National Restaurant Association's Restaurant Neighbor Award for the state of Maryland.
Training and Support:
The Greene Turtle provides extensive new store and ongoing training for franchisees, managers and staff. New franchisee teams receive over 9 weeks of hands-on training, and once the restaurant opens, we follow through with regular support including restaurant and kitchen visits, ongoing training and certification of staff.
Investment and Capital Requirements:
Typical cost to develop one unit: $900,000 to $1,500,000.
We are seeking qualified candidates who can develop 2-4 restaurants in 3-5 years. Ideal candidates have restaurant ownership and management experience and a passion for customer service. Minimum financial requirements are a net worth of $2,000,000 with liquidity of $500,000.
