VIDEO: Executives Discuss Their Top Challenges and the Best Tools for an Effective FranDev Program
In the latest Development Dish video, Franchise Update asked several executives about the biggest challenges they’re facing today, as well as the programs and tools they rely on most. One common theme was the importance and ongoing challenge of generating quality leads. Executives shared the strategies and resources they use to attract qualified candidates and bring them into the system.
Most officials said their top concerns center on economic uncertainty and its impact on attracting quality candidates. They pointed to tariffs as a contributing factor, citing higher prices and the resulting pressure on consumers and business owners. Other challenges mentioned include rising real estate costs and restrictive labor laws in certain markets across the country.
The first tool each franchise development executive identified as essential for attracting qualified candidates is a strong CRM system. Other key resources include a well-developed franchise development website and the growing use of AI to reach and engage prospects. Thorough candidate research, including financial vetting and direct interaction during Discovery Day, continues to provide valuable insight into prospective franchisees. Executives also emphasized the importance of a strong site-selection process, supported by a solid marketing program designed to build and maintain a healthy sales funnel.
