ColorTyme owners and vendors connect in General Session

Attending franchisees get "Quick Buy" specials and other deals from vendors

June 20, 2011 // Franchising.com // OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. – More than 140 rent-to-own franchisees and family, vendors and corporate staff members gathered earlier this week in Lake Tahoe, Calif. for the 2011 ColorTyme Summer Meeting. The General Session, held on Thursday, featured presentations made by corporate executives and a number of vendors who offered attendees exclusive discounts on product purchases.

Mitch Fadel, president and COO of Rent-A-Center, spoke on the future of rent-to-own and Dwight Dumler, Rent-a-Center's senior VP of public affairs, gave a legislative update.

"Rent-to-own has been a resilient industry dating back to the late1960's, and it continues to be more resilient in this economy today," said Fadel. "We can be very excited about the future knowing our best years are still ahead of us."

Vendors including Welton USA, Twin-Star/Classic Flame, SLR International, Mitsubishi, Archbrook Laguna, Perdue Furniture, Panasonic, Sony VAIO, Whirlpool, Serta, LG and Ashley Furniture provided special deals on products in auction-like "Quick Buy" sessions.

"This is my first Summer Meeting to attend, and I'm having a great time," said ColorTyme owner Jeff Tepper. "I'm so impressed with the vendor deals and rebates they offer. With the Quick Buys, I was able to buy best-selling items at fantastic prices and can pass the savings on to my customers. I definitely plan to attend next year's Summer Meeting."

The ColorTyme Summer Meeting will continue through Saturday with planned activities including the annual Willie Talley Golf Tournament, a day outing to Truckee, Calif., and lunch at Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives favorite, JAX at the Tracks.
