October 09, 2014 // Franchising.com // OMAHA, Nebraska – Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced today that Nebraska's first shop, a franchise location in Omaha, will open to the public the first week in November. The shop is located in the North Park Shopping Center at 2056 N. 117th Avenue, conveniently situated near the intersection of 120th and Blondo. The widely acclaimed neighborhood hangout will feature its toasty warm sandwiches, made to order salads, hand-dipped milkshakes and live, local music, which make it "The Best Place for Lunch."
Potbelly has earned a reputation in communities across the United States for having delicious food, fun décor and fresh tunes. The franchise will be owned and operated by two brothers Craig and Kendall Frantz. The Frantz brothers are Nebraska natives with close community connections and an extensive background in business management and operations.
"We are thrilled that our friends, families and neighbors can finally enjoy Potbelly here in Omaha," Craig said. "Our toasty warm sandwiches will be the talk of the town, now that Omaha's new best place for lunch is ready to open."
Craig and Kendall are bringing the franchise sandwich shop to a community of eager fans who have grown to love the brand during their travels outside of Nebraska. Regionally, Potbelly Sandwich Shops already operate in Minneapolis, Wisconsin and Chicago (including Midway Airport).
"When people from Omaha travel to areas such as Chicago, Minneapolis and Washington D.C., Potbelly is always one of their must-visit destinations. I'm excited to save folks the trip and bring this incredible sandwich shop to our community," Craig added. "I've been a music lover my whole life and I'm especially looking forward to giving local musicians a place to perform for their friends and neighbors."
Omaha's first Potbelly Sandwich Shop will include approximately 25 staff members, ranging from customer service staff to managers. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday though Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
"Craig, Kendall and their team are the perfect addition to the Potbelly family. We couldn't be happier to share our mouthwatering shakes and sandwiches with our fans here in Omaha," said Mike Walters, head of franchise development for Potbelly Sandwich Shop. "Every new sandwich shop is designed to resemble the community it resides in, and Craig and Kendall have the deep rooted community values Potbelly looks for when choosing franchise partners."
