DreamMaker FDD: Remodeling Franchise Revenues up 14% in 2014

DreamMaker Remodeling Franchise Is Experiencing Several Years of Growth as a Result of a Booming Remodeling Industry

WACO, TX - (Marketwired - Apr 28, 2015) - DreamMaker remodeling franchise has disclosed the results of an internal audit of its annual revenue, and the results are consistent with the boom the remodeling industry is experiencing.

The details published in the company's Franchise Disclosure Document reveal that same-store sales increased 14.17% in 2014, far faster than the remodeling industry's growth overall. The growth in 2014 comes on the heels of the remodeling franchise's report that it experienced 23.8% same-store sales growth in 2013.

DreamMaker has been demonstrating significant growth for several years running: average franchise revenue for the company grew nearly 61% from 2011 to 2014, climbing from $495,524 in 2011 to $796,927 in 2014. At the same time, the average gross profit margin for DreamMaker franchisees increased to 42.9% in 2014. A profit margin much higher than the industry average allows our franchise remodeling businesses to hire great contractors and staff and provide excellent customer service. It also affords the owner the ability to work 40- to 55-hour weeks rather than the 60- to 70-hour weeks typical for many remodelers.

"We're really excited that our remodeling franchise owners are continuing to make an impact in their communities," said Doug Dwyer, president of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen. "The consistency of our continued growth reflects the fact that we are remodeling homes that meet the needs and dreams of homeowners."

DreamMaker remodeling franchise owners have experienced several years of consistent growth stemming from the activity of the remodeling industry at large. According to research by the Joint Center of Housing Studies of Harvard University, drawn from the Census Bureau's American Housing Survey, remodeling activity peaks for homes that are between 25 and 30 years old, trails off slightly, then stays at a relatively high level as homes continue to age. An unprecedented number of American homes are either in, or entering, their peak remodeling years. The total number of houses has doubled since 1970.

As a result, the center notes the remodeling industry could post record-breaking numbers for 2015.

"We're in a sweet spot that is expected to last for several years," Dwyer said. "The average age of houses is increasing just as the Baby Boomer generation is entering retirement in large numbers. Rather than purchase new homes, more and more people are electing to remodel their current homes to make them suitable and comfortable as they age."
