Kiddie Academy® Expands Footprint in Texas with Six New Locations

Leading Franchise Network in Educational Childcare Plans to Open 12 Additional Academies in the Lone Star State Over the Next 15 Months

ABINGDON, Md. - Sept. 22, 2015 // PRNewswire // - Texas is recognized by many as one of America's fastest growing states and is now home to six new Kiddie Academy® locations, including openings in three cities: Austin, Dallas and Houston. The company, which serves families and their children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old with full-time, before- and after-school educational childcare, is proudly expanding throughout Texas with an additional 14 locations in development expected to open before 2017.

Population growth and a growing demand for educational childcare, along with the state's lower taxes and less burdensome regulations for business owners, has encouraged stellar growth in Texas for Kiddie Academy - a nationally networked franchise of more than 140 locations throughout the U.S., known for its proprietary, standards-based learning curriculum called Life Essentials®.

"Several factors - including the availability of commercial real estate and an abundance of lender's capital - are contributing to the unprecedented growth Kiddie Academy is experiencing in Texas," said Greg White, vice president of franchise development. "Not to mention, the state boasts several of the fastest growing U.S. cities, which brings many small business owners to the area, thus creating an opportunity for new franchise development."

This was a key factor that drew husband and wife team, Supriya Sumanth and Sumanth Nandagopal to relocate their family to the area from California, to open a Kiddie Academy franchise in Cedar Park (a suburb of Austin). "We were already looking at moving to Austin from the San Francisco Bay area, and when we started researching Kiddie Academy, all signs pointed to Texas," said Sumanth. "Cedar Park has the demographics and demand to support our educational childcare academy."

Following is a snapshot of Kiddie Academy's growing Texas presence:

  • Houston - Opened locations in League City, Pearland East and Pearland West, with 10 more in development
  • Dallas - Opened in Castle Hills in January 2013, with two more locations under construction
  • San Antonio - Expected to open in 2016
  • Austin - Opened locations in Pflugerville and Cedar Park

Grounded in the vision to create a community that shapes and inspires children for the future, Texas is just one of the many key markets that Kiddie Academy is targeting for future growth. In fact, the nationally franchised network has plans to open 94 new franchises across the country in the next few years, bringing its total number of franchise units to more than 230.

Kiddie Academy programs are designed to help young children build confidence, develop social skills and cultivate independence.
