Local Business Owners Take Home Top Honors and Awards

September 29, 2016 // Franchising.com // JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Anthony and Lynette Arroyo, owners of Mr. Appliance of the Tri-Cities, earned the Mr. Appliance Franchisee of the Year Award and Top Gun honors at the 2016 Dwyer Group International Conference held Sept. 11-14 in San Antonio, Texas.

The Franchisee of the Year Award is the highest honor than can be earned by a franchisee in the Mr. Appliance network. The winning franchise must show consistent growth through proper training and management of the organization, consistent high sales volume and quality customer service. 

The Top Gun award goes to franchise owners who achieve top sales and reach operation benchmarks. The Top Gun recipients represent the top 10 percent of Mr. Appliance franchise owners across North America. 

“The idea of ‘Top Gun’ was established by the Navy in the 1960s as a way to give training and credit to elite fighter pilots,” said Doug Rogers, president of Mr. Appliance. “Taking a page from the Naval Top Gun Program, each year we recognize our franchise leaders for their accomplishments and dedication to the trade. It takes dedication, hard work, expertise and commitment to reach the Top Gun goal and we are honored to have these winners on our team.”

The Top Gun designation was inspired by the 1980’s movie of the same moniker. Don Dwyer, the late founder of Mr. Appliance parent company, Dwyer Group, initiated the concept. He felt the top franchise owners went the extra mile and did what it took to be exemplary.

“We’ve been constantly reminded in the past year of how incredible our team is and how much support we have at every level,” said Lynette. “We work hard, but our success wouldn’t be possible without an amazing team of technicians, a wonderful support staff, and a supportive community.”
