Penn Station East Coast Subs Plans App Updates

Penn Station’s app, loyalty program launches successfully.

October 13, 2016 // Franchising.com // MILFORD, OHIO - Penn Station East Coast Subs, the fast-casual restaurant known for its grilled, made-to-order sub sandwiches, hand-squeezed lemonade and fresh-cut fries, has already seen success with its first-ever app, which launched earlier this year. In the app’s first three months, almost 200,000 people downloaded it and used it for more than $1.5 million in transactions.

The app, which integrates with Penn Station’s new loyalty program, has also spurred customer loyalty. So far, more than 96 percent of customers who downloaded the app have also joined the loyalty program. Those customers are taking advantage of free food offers, like a small fresh-cut fry or a six-inch sub, as they reach spending milestones.

“We talked about creating a loyalty program for several years, and integrating it into an app was the perfect vehicle,” said President Craig Dunaway. “We’re excited about the initial response from our customers to both the app and the loyalty program. We’re planning several updates and more features for the app so we can continue to serve our customers in the best way possible.”

Future versions of the app will include the ability to send gift cards to friends and use gift cards to pay through the app. Penn Station also plans to add in-app ordering.
