Buffalo Wings & Rings Makes a Difference with Successful Breast Cancer Awareness Month Campaign

Club-level Sports Restaurant Chain Raises $20,000 Donation from Select LTO Items to Breast Cancer Research & Awareness

CINCINNATI (PRWEB) November 15, 2016 - Buffalo Wings & Rings completed its most successful limited time offer campaign in the brand’s more than 30-year history with its inaugural “Chip in for the Cause” promotion during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The program featured a menu of limited time offerings such as pink tortilla chips and a signature pink cocktail, the Blushing Buffalo, from September 26 through November 13. During the campaign, a $1 donation was made to breast cancer awareness and research for each participating LTO item ordered.

The notable pink chips were accompanied by two dip options, a spicy Buffalo Chicken or a savory Beer Cheese with Pretzel Bites. The promotion also featured four additional items including Cauliflower Wings, Honey Sriracha BBQ Wings, Chocolate Croissant and Beer Cheese Chicken Sliders. Chip in for the Cause represented the highest percent of sales that the restaurant franchise has seen with any limited time offer in its history, and Buffalo Wings & Rings raised $10,000 system-wide through food sales alone.

In addition to the menu specials, guests were able to donate through the purchase of limited edition t-shirts for $10, with all proceeds benefiting breast cancer research. The shirts sold out at most locations in the first week: a total of 1,600 purchases resulting in a $10,000 donation.

“We are so pleased with how the promotion turned out and that our community was able to show such overwhelming support for the cause,” said Diane Matheson, director of marketing for Buffalo Wings & Rings. “We can’t wait to continue the fight against breast cancer and reach an even bigger goal next year.”

Buffalo Wings & Rings holds its community involvement as a top priority, but the brand aims to constantly refine its culinary approach as well. An equally heavy focus is concentrated on restaurant fans and their food.

“It was great to be able to create some special menu items for Chip in for the Cause that still manage to deliver an elevated dining experience,” said Elliot Jablonsky, R&D chef of Buffalo Wings & Rings. “Not only was the Blushing Buffalo cocktail the No. 1 item from the beverage menu during the promotion, but all of the new starters beat out some of our long-time guest favorites.”

Buffalo Wings & Rings will launch a holiday season limited time offer beginning on November 21 featuring Holiday Spice wings and two new seasonal cocktails.

Between selling out key growth markets and enjoying record growth with new franchisees and existing owners signing on to open additional locations, Buffalo Wings & Rings is poised to continue on its growth trajectory in the coming years. During the first half of 2016 alone, the 70-unit brand saw its average unit sales increase 2.9 percent, with year-to-date system sales up 11.4 percent.
