Mr. Appliance of Tampa Bay Takes Home Multiple Business Awards

November 29, 2016 // Franchising.com // TAMPA BAY, Fla. - Jim Roark, owner of Mr. Appliance of Tampa Bay recently earned the Excellence in Mentoring Award and Top Gun honors at the 2016 Dwyer Group International Conference held Sept. 11-14 in San Antonio, TX. 

The Excellence in Mentoring Award is presented to the Mr. Appliance franchisee who consistently sets an example for others within the Mr. Appliance system by conveying vision, participation and positive contribution. 

The Top Gun award goes to franchise owners who achieve top sales and reach operation benchmarks. The Top Gun recipients represent the top 10 percent of Mr. Appliance franchise owners across North America. 

“The idea of ‘Top Gun’ was established by the Navy in the 1960s as a way to give training and credit to elite fighter pilots,” said Doug Rogers, president of Mr. Appliance. “Taking a page from the Naval Top Gun Program, each year we recognize our franchise leaders for their accomplishments and dedication to the trade. It takes dedication, hard work, expertise and commitment to reach the Top Gun goal and we are honored to have these winners on our team.”

The Top Gun designation was inspired by the 1980’s movie of the same moniker. Don Dwyer, the late founder of Mr. Appliance parent company, Dwyer Group, initiated the concept. He felt the top franchise owners went the extra mile and did what it took to be exemplary.

The Dwyer Group International Conference is a business event designed to bring the many concepts of the Dwyer Group together annually for updates, inspirational speakers, informative business-specific classes and, most importantly, fellowship amongst the thousands of gifted and dedicated individuals who own and operate their own franchise.
