Two Years After Franchise Funding Group’s Investment, Pet Wants Has 58 Franchisees in 27 States

June 12, 2017 // Franchising.com // Cincinnati, OH - Just two years after partnering with Franchise Funding Group, Pet Wants Franchise System, LLC, has sold 58 franchises in 27 states, with five more franchisees in the process of opening their businesses.

“We’re proud that Pet Wants has gotten off to such a great start. It’s a wonderful business model and, with our investment and strategic guidance, but mostly because of the hard work and dedication of the Pet Wants leadership and corporate team, the franchise system has had explosive growth throughout the United States,” Franchise Funding Group President Daniel Murphy said. “People spent more than $24.6 billion on pet food and treats in 2016 and that number is projected to grow to $26 billion in 2017. The market is huge and growing and pet parents are eagerly searching for healthier and fresher food options for their four-legged family members. Pet Wants is positioned perfectly to serve this vast market and demand.”

Pet Wants originally launched in Cincinnati in 2010. Founded by Michele Hobbs, the business was built to provide proprietary crafted, slow-cooked, fresh, high-quality pet food delivered to customers through a retail store and a convenient home-delivery service. Hobbs partnered with Franchise Funding Group in 2015 and Pet Wants Franchise System, LLC began offering franchises in April 2015 and awarded the first franchise in the late summer of 2015. There are now 37 mobile franchises (delivery only) and 21 retail locations along with delivery service. The franchise investment fee for a Mobile Business model is $38,500 and a Retail Store model is $48,500.

“For pet lovers, Pet Wants provides franchise owners with a flexible, financially rewarding and fulfilling business. Our owners feel great about helping pets to live longer, healthier, and better lives. As “pack” leader, I am not only thrilled with the national growth of the business, but also with the caliber of franchise owners who are joining our team. Our whole pack is made up of people who are passionate not just about Pet Wants, but about pets in general, and their well-being in particular. I feel like we’re really making a positive impact in communities throughout the U.S. and our growth is proof of that,” said Rick Billups, President of Pet Wants Franchise System, LLC.

Franchise Funding Group is an investment and franchise-development company located in Cincinnati that helps entrepreneurs to scale their existing, proven and profitable businesses nationwide as new franchise systems. Franchise Funding Group also helps existing small franchise systems to jumpstart their growth. For a minority stake in these businesses, FFG provides up to $150,000 in services, training, systems development, marketing, strategic guidance and funding. FFG’s Advisory Board Members have collectively and successfully developed dozens of businesses, including nearly a dozen national franchise systems. Franchise Funding Group recently announced a new investment in The Dog Wizard, a dog-training franchise based in Charlotte.

“Think of us a Shark Tank for Franchising. We are strategic partners and investors, helping entrepreneurs to scale their businesses nationally through the franchising business model. We use a year-round, highly selective application process to choose a handful of promising companies each year to work with and we’re pleased that our partnership with Pet Wants has been so successful. We eagerly wanted to enter the pet care industry. We’re looking forward to the growth of The Dog Wizard and investments into other home-based, mobile, or small store ‘caring concepts’ that help customers take care of their homes, cars, kids, aging parents, pets, or themselves,” Murphy said. “Our mission is to help transform business owners into successful national franchisors.”

Franchise owner Melissa Mautz in Lexington, Kentucky, said “Supplying my community with freshly made, highly nutritious pet food options delivered straight to the customers door not only has enabled me to hit high business goals, but also gives me personal satisfaction in knowing that we are making a difference in the lives of our neighbors through continuing the health and vitality of their furry family members. Pet Wants stands apart from normal pet food retailers because we make our high-quality formulas monthly in small batches – which maintains all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients. Our food in never warehoused or shelved, instead we sell all of our formulas by the pound ensuring the freshest product is filling our customers’ bowls every single meal. After growing with this young, vibrate company over the past couple of years, I have great aspirations on continuing our success ahead of the curve, by providing our local community with all of their pet wants and needs.”

About Pet Wants

Pet Wants was started by Michele Hobbs out of love for her pets and frustration. Veterinarians were unable to help relieve her dog’s painful skin allergies. After doing much research, Michele discovered the national dog food brand she trusted was not fresh and lacked sufficient nutrition and, when pet food sits in warehouses and store shelves for months and months, it loses even more nutritional value. She was committed to developing a better solution for all dogs and cats. Pet Wants food is exclusively crafted – fresh, healthy, and slow-cooked with no sugar added, no fillers, and no animal by-products. Pet Wants sources only the best salmon, chicken, lamb, brown rice, and other ingredients. Fresh ingredients make for better food, which translates into better health for pets. And, since Pet Wants never uses corn, wheat, soy or dyes, the common pet health problems associated with these ingredients are no longer worries. Pet Wants fresh food is conveniently delivered to the customer within weeks of production, not months. You can learn more at www.PetWants.com.
