Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids Expands to The Triangle

Signs agreements for five area salons; Opens first two in Raleigh and Durham

June 21, 2017 // Franchising.com // SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Knowing all too well the shear torture that a children’s haircut can be for both kids and parents, Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids is looking to alleviate some of the stress.

The rapidly growing children’s haircut franchise, which currently operates more than 40 salons in 19 states, has signed two separate agreements for the development of five salons in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill triangle area. The area’s first two salons have already opened – the first in Raleigh last month and the second in Durham last week.

This marks the brand’s entry into North Carolina and is part of a statewide growth initiative that also includes one salon in Greensboro and six salons in Charlotte.

“Not all children like to get their haircut, we are aware of this struggle and do all we can to make the experience one that they will want to have again. We strive to help all kids discover how much fun a haircut can be,” said Nathan Simms, who owns and operates the new salon in Durham. “We’re excited about introducing the Cookie Cutters brand to The Triangle and look forward to becoming the go-to place for children’s haircuts.”

For more than 20 years, Cookie Cutters has offered an interactive haircut experience that both children and parents won’t soon forget. Upon entering the salons, children are welcomed by an in-store playground where they can climb and slide. Come time for the haircut, each station on the cutting floor is outfitted with unique fantasy chairs – from race cars to motorcycles, firetrucks to airplanes – as well as televisions for the kids to watch shows or play video games. With a balloon, sucker and a smile at the end of each haircut, the Cookie Cutters experience is designed to keep children coming back again and again.

“Cookie Cutters fits a simple niche and fulfills a basic need of providing all children, including those with special needs or sensory issues, with a good haircut that is done in a comfortable setting and on trend,” said Matt Murphy, owner of the Raleigh salon.
