Entrepreneur Magazine Ranks Kumon #6 on 2017 Top Global Franchises List

Award-Winning Education Franchise Lands in the Top 10 among 200 North American Franchisors

TEANECK, N.J. - July 6, 2017 // PRNewswire // - Kumon, the world's largest after-school math and reading franchise, has been ranked sixth on Entrepreneur Magazine's annual Top Global Franchises list. That's nine spots up from 2016.

To compile the ranking, Entrepreneur took each company's 2017 Franchise 500 score, then adjusted it to give extra weight to international size and growth.

Kumon has a massive global footprint with more than four million students studying at nearly 25,000 learning centers worldwide. Recently, its operations expanded from locations in 49 countries and regions to 50.

Kumon opened 72 franchises in the United States in 2016 and plans to add 100 more this year. There are more than 280,000 subject enrollments at 1,500 learning centers throughout the country.

Outside of Japan, where the learning program was founded, Kumon North America has the second largest enrollment of students with more than 400,000 subject enrollments.
