Ziggi’s Coffee Enters Oklahoma With New Franchise Agreement

Company Awards Franchise Agreement To Local Tulsa Resident, Introducing The Drive-Thru Coffee Concept To The State

July 06, 2017 // Franchising.com // LONGMONT, Colo. - Ziggi’s Coffee (www.ZiggisCoffee.com), a quickly growing coffee shop and drive-thru franchise, has recently granted a franchise agreement for a drive-thru location in Tulsa, Oklahoma, making it the first location outside the company’s home state of Colorado and a sign of future expansion nationwide.

Joe Bales is the latest in a growing number of franchisees to join the Ziggi’s family, introducing the high demand coffee brand to new communities. Bales, who spent the past 30 years of his career in aerospace manufacturing, knew he wasn’t ready to retire and saw an opportunity to bring the drive-thru coffee concept to an area of town where he knew people would have a thirst for it.

“I’m not really ready to just quit working but I’m ready for a change,” said Bales. With a recommendation from one of his four daughters, Bales decided to pursue a franchise and narrowed it down to Ziggi’s and one other concept. “I ended up deciding to go with Ziggi’s because it just felt better. It felt like they were more interested in me personally, rather than just another number,” he said. “We don’t have a lot of drive-thru coffee shops down here in Tulsa. It’s a relatively new concept out here, so there’s a lot of opportunity in this area for growth.”

With his long career in positions such as manufacturing engineer, operations manager, and project manager, Bales has a good idea how to run a business but credits the franchise system with providing him with a road map.

“Ziggi’s has the processes in place. They’re already developed, you just have to follow them,” said Bales.

As he works with the Ziggi’s team on site-selection, Bales is preparing himself for the new role he will take on as a business owner. “I plan to be involved a lot, especially early on. It’s in my nature. I don’t think I can stay away,” he said. But once his first location is up and running, Bales says he wants to start looking for a second location and possibly even more down the road.
