FirstLight Home Care to Speak at Service Academy Career Conference in San Diego, Aug. 24-25

National home care franchise to discuss franchising options at job fair exclusively for service academy alumni, extends franchise discount for veterans.

August 23, 2017 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI - FirstLight Home Care, a provider of quality, affordable, non-medical home care for adults, will attend and present at the upcoming Service Academy Career Conference (SACC), a job fair exclusively for service academy alumni. The two-day event will be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California, Aug. 24-25.

Larry France, director of franchise development for FirstLight Home Care, will participate in a seminar about franchising on Thursday, Aug. 24 at noon. He will discuss how investing in a franchise can be a rewarding business opportunity that will allow veterans to continue serving others.

“After careers spent serving their country, veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces can be at a loss looking for a career beyond the military,” France said. “They attend SACC events looking for employment opportunities, and there are various prospects within the franchise industry.”

The SACC has numerous events throughout the year where candidates can interface with a large number of companies and universities to evaluate career opportunities outside the military. FirstLight is scheduled to speak at similar events in San Antonio and Savannah, Georgia, later this year.

As part of its support for all U.S. military veterans, FirstLight is also extending a franchise fee discount of $10,000 for veterans. Due to the success of the program, the company will continue to offer this saving throughout 2017.

“For many veterans, it’s important to support other veterans,” France said. “Investing in a FirstLight franchise gives veterans the freedom to become an entrepreneur, while making a difference in the lives of other veterans and members of the community.”

FirstLight was ranked as a Top Franchise for Veterans by Franchise Business Review. It also received the highest ranking from the International Franchise Association’s VetFran committee based on veteran discount, clean audit reports and the history and size of the business. FirstLight’s CEO, Jeff Bevis, serves as vice chair of the IFA’s VetFran committee to help provide access and opportunities in franchising to veterans and their spouses.
