New Topeka Fast-Casual Breaks Record for Best Gyroville Opening Ever

Popular Mediterranean Fast-Casual Franchise Sees Record Consumer Traffic and Sales at First U.S. Location Beyond Florida

September 05, 2017 // Franchising.com // BOCA RATON, Fla. - Gyroville, a popular Southeast Florida build-your-own Mediterranean fast-casual franchise, experienced strong response from area residents of Topeka, Kansas, during the opening of its first domestic restaurant outside of Florida, the brand’s home state. Located at 2855 Wanamaker Road in Topeka, Gyroville held its grand opening Aug. 31 and saw a record number of customers attend, making it the brand’s best franchise opening ever.

The Topeka location served a company record of nearly 800 customers in a single day, which included almost 600 Gyro Pita sandwiches. For over four hours after opening, a line of more than 50 people stretched out the front door. The Topeka grand opening also broke Gyroville’s single day sales record. Topeka prices are 13 percent lower than prices in South Florida.

“It was great to see how much locals love our fresh, modern spin on traditional Mediterranean cuisine,” said Lambros Kokkinelis, founder and CEO of Gyroville. “The Topeka location is off to a strong start as seen through its record-setting sales and turnout. The feedback from the community has been very positive.”

The restaurant is owned by mother and daughter franchisees Nataliya Miller and Anna Voskoboyeva. It is one of Gyroville’s larger locations with a 1,700 square foot space. The Topeka location also introduces the brand’s updated store design, which features a cleaner, crisp look and feel that is synonymous with its updated logo and color scheme. Neutrally based with accents of green, the new restaurant includes updated light fixtures and furniture to reflect the new branding.

“It’s a great feeling to bring Gyroville’s authentic Mediterranean fare, which guests can customize, to Topeka and to see how well it is received,” Miller said. “As more people seek healthier eating options, the demand for Mediterranean food will continue to grow.”

Gyroville seeks master franchise developers to continue developing the brand in the United States. The fast-growing franchise also seeks multi-unit operators and owner-operators to bring the brand to new markets, initially targeting the Southeastern part of the country. The company expects to open another location in 2017, along with adding 10 more signed franchise agreements to continue steady growth throughout the United States.

About Gyroville

Gyroville was created in 2010 to bring Mediterranean cuisine to the fast-casual market. Gyroville starts by using only the freshest ingredients and prepares them using recipes that combine old-school, Greek traditions with a modern day twist. The concept allows customers to follow their choice of protein from the grill or vertical spit through an assembly line process, where they choose from fresh ingredients and homemade sauces. The first Gyroville opened in January 2010 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Today, there are eight locations in Florida and one in Ecuador. For more information, visit http://gyroville.com/.
