Two Maids & A Mop Offering Free Service to Breast Cancer Patients

Residential Cleaning Franchise Partners with Non-Profit to Help Women Battling Cancer

October 02, 2017 // Franchising.com // One of the scariest conversations a woman can face is one that begins with the words: “You have breast cancer.” This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, women who are in the fight of their lives are getting much-needed support from Two Maids & A Mop. The residential cleaning business is partnering with Cleaning For A Reason, a national non-profit charity, to provide free house cleaning services to women in cancer treatment.

Sharan Chase of Nashville, Tennessee, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 but didn’t discover Cleaning For A Reason until earlier this year. “I was sick as a dog at the time due to a chemotherapy medication, I could not get off of my couch,” said Chase. “The folks at Two Maids & A Mop have made me feel great, especially knowing that the heavy stuff that needs to be done will get done. When you have people who care, it makes all the difference in the world.”

Chase is just one of the many women who helped Two Maids & A Mop become one of the top five providers of Cleaning For A Reason services in the nation. “Dusting, vacuuming and mopping can be exhausting on a regular day. Women who are going through cancer treatment do not have the energy to maintain a home,” said David Luke, Chief Operating Officer for Two Maids & A Mop. “The service we provide through our partnership with Cleaning For A Reason not only cuts back on the physical work a woman with cancer might face, but it also cuts back on the stress of just thinking about having to clean up around the house. They don’t have to worry about it, instead, they can focus on their treatment and spending quality time with family.”

  • This year, it's estimated more than 250,000 women will hear the words: “You have breast cancer.”
  • This year, 40,000 women are expected to die from breast cancer.
  • Many women endure more than one kind of treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation.

Cleaning For A Reason started working with cancer patients in 2006. Since then the non-profit group, along with partners like Two Maids & A Mop, has donated nearly 7 million dollars in donated cleaning services. “We are proud of our long-term partnership with Cleaning For A Reason,” Luke said. “We are committed to helping cancer patients throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month and every month of the year. Two Maids & A Mop employees take pride in knowing they are helping these women rest and focus on their recovery.”

We’re happy to set up interviews with Cleaning for A Reason patients and the cleaning experts with Two Maids & A Mop who are taking care of their homes.
