New Belville Tropical Smoothie Café® to Hold Grand Opening Fundraising Celebration on Oct. 14

Owners to Donate Procceds to Support Camp Sunshine and Hurricane Irma Relief

October 05, 2017 // Franchising.com // Belville, NC - When the new Tropical Smoothie Café opens in the Belville-Leland area on Sat., Oct. 14, at 143 Poole Road, Unit B, residents will have much more the celebrate than simply delicious fresh blended drinks and healthful meals. The official grand opening celebration will also function as a fundraising drive to support both Camp Sunshine and disaster recovery for those impacted by Hurricane Irma.

“Our brand motto of ‘Eat better. Feel better.’ goes beyond a visit to the café - it’s about making the lives of our entire community better one step at a time. We were fortunate to be able to open our location following the passing of this rough hurricane and we now hope to help get others back on their feet. And it’s always worthwhile to bring some fun and happiness to the seriously ill children and families served by Camp Sunshine. With the support of our Tropical community, I know we can make a meaningful difference to both organizations and for all those in need,” said Brandon Korman, Franchisee of Tropical Smoothie Café.

The newest 1,500 square foot café features an island-inspired atmosphere and is owned by franchisees Brandon and Deena Korman. The franchise duo joined the brand over three years ago and operate two additional cafes in New Hanover County in North Carolina. On the date of the newest location’s grand opening, 20% of proceeds from all three Korman-owned locations (including Midtown - Long Leaf Mall and Porters Neck - Bayshore Commons Mall locations) will be equally donated to both charities.

The North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce will kick off the event with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 14 and will include entertainment, special menu deals, product tastings, and a dunk tank! For a small donation that will be contributed to both charities, all guests will have the opportunity to toss the franchise owner, and CEO of Tropical Smoothie Café into a dunk tank of fresh fruits. Take a turn to be dunked for an additional donation to the causes! The newest café in Belville-Leland will also be offering special menu deals all day.* Additionally, in recognition of the first responders that were a great help during this time of relief, the café will be offering one free smoothie to each responder who attends the event between 3-4 p.m.**
