Husband-Wife Duo Receives National Recognition for Dedication to Community Outreach

November 30, 2017 // Franchising.com // Dave and Laurel Hajek, owners of The Goddard School located at 9431 Atlee Commerce Boulevard in Ashland, VA, have been presented with the Humanitarian Award by Goddard Systems, Inc. (GSI), franchisor of The Goddard School.

The award recognizes the Hajeks for demonstrating selfless devotion to serving those in need and a commitment to community outreach through life-enriching programs.

The Hajeks spearheaded an annual market-wide campaign to raise money for CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation, which provides financial assistance, meals and other comforts to families of children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses in the Richmond, VA area.

“Besides teaching children to be good students, we also strive to inspire them to be good people. It’s important for children to see how acts of kindness can have a positive impact on the community and the world,” said Dave. “We love the work that CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation is doing and we are proud to have all of the Richmond- area Goddard Schools support them again this year with our combined fundraising efforts,” added Dave.
