Amid rapid expansion, franchise company invests over $1 million in new office.

December 11, 2017 // Franchising.com // TROY, MICHIGAN - Goldfish Swim School Franchising, LLC, the leading premier learn-to-swim franchise concept, is proud to announce the opening of its new franchise headquarters in Troy, Michigan. Following the largest year of growth in the company's history, Goldfish moved its franchise team of 25 to a completely renovated modern space that boasts the latest technology and a highly collaborative environment. The new office, located at 2701 Industrial Row Drive, opens for business today.

“This move caps off what has been an exciting year for Goldfish,” says Chris McCuiston, CEO & Co-Founder of the franchise company who, with his wife and company Co-Founder, Jenny, was recognized by EY with the Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award in the Education & Training category earlier this year. “Twelve years ago, we were working at our kitchen table to launch what would become our first swim school location. It is amazing how much the company has grown.”

“We joke about the fact that when I first had the idea to open a swim school, I told Chris we should do it in our back yard,” adds Jenny. “Looking around this office, we’ve come a long way from that initial dream.”

Goldfish Swim School’s proprietary systems, developed by the McCuiston duo, provide developmentally appropriate water safety and swimming lessons in a safe, child-friendly and fun environment. The Goldfish team prides itself on teaching children ages three months to 12 years to swim in a unique, tropical setting with highly trained and certified instructors, small class sizes, 90-degree pools and a state-of-the-art chlorine generation system.

The 16,000-square-foot building that houses the new office is a former manufacturing space that the swim school franchise completely renovated to meet its needs; investing over $1 million and months of construction time. The space was designed to foster collaboration and support the Goldfish Swim School culture. A wall adorned with surfboards, an employee lounge and a living wall add to the fun, inviting atmosphere. Technology forward conference rooms and colorful huddle spaces that can accommodate from one to six people line the exterior of the collaborative space. The office is completely mobile friendly with easy connectivity to all TVs in the office, allowing for impromptu meetings and increased productivity.

The standalone facility also features a dedicated training space that accommodates more than 40 trainees with future expansion plans that include a pool -- similar to those located in each Goldfish Swim School - that will serve the franchise’s additional in-water training needs.

With an additional 25 locations slated to open within the next 12 months, the company is preparing to offer increased training and continuing education workshops at the headquarters. “Our franchisees operate high-touch businesses in their communities, so we know we need to offer high-touch support,” notes Andrew McCuiston, Vice President. “We have continued to grow our franchise team and are now set up to accommodate the future growth of our business with the staff space we need to keep us best in class.”
