Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids Opening in Colorado Springs

Aims to make haircuts more memorable for both kids and parents

January 08, 2018 // Franchising.com // Salt Lake City, Utah - Children’s haircuts can be sheer torture for both parents and kids, but this Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids opening on January 9, hopes to alleviate some of that stress.

Located at 5627 Barnes Rd. in Powers Pointe Shopping Center, the new salon is the first Cookie Cutters in the Colorado Springs area, and the first of two that Chris Worden and his wife, Pam, are committed to opening in 2018.

“This is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community that we’ve lived in for years,” said Chris Worden. “There aren’t many businesses in the Colorado Springs area that cater to children needs, and entering the beauty industry is a great change of pace from our past experiences.”

Chris is a retired U.S. Air Force veteran with 20 years of service and Pam is an Elementary School teacher for K-8 grade - both are ready to switch professional gears. Their passion for working with children and their desire to open a business geared towards the younger demographic were inspired by Chris’s retirement and their three daughters who are 8, 11 and 19 years of age.

Cookie Cutters offers an interactive haircut experience that both children and parents won’t soon forget. Upon entering the salon, children are welcomed by an in-store playground where they can climb and slide. Come time for the haircut, each station on the cutting floor is outfitted with unique fantasy chairs - from race cars to motorcycles, firetrucks to airplanes - as well as televisions for the kids to watch shows or play video games. With a balloon, sucker and a smile at the end of each haircut, the Cookie Cutters experience is designed to keep children coming back again and again.

“Our goal is to provide all children, including those with special needs or sensory issues, with an enjoyable experience, pleasant memories and the desire to keep coming back,” added Pam. “Little ones can be terrified by the haircut experience - the loud buzz of clippers, the confinement in a chair, the orders from a stranger to sit still. Cookie Cutters has designed its approach to put children at ease.”

Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids in Colorado Springs is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
