Blink Fitness Celebrates Year of Tremendous Growth
High Volume, Low Price (HVLP) industry challenger makes notable strides with franchising program
January 17, 2018 // Franchising.com // New York, N.Y. - Blink Fitness - a premium-quality, value-based gym that has challenged industry norms by celebrating how exercise makes you feel, not just how it makes you look - celebrated a year of remarkable growth in 2017. In addition to expanding in New York and New Jersey, the brand broke into two new markets - Philadelphia and Los Angeles - and is set to continue expanding, with more than 25 locations slated to open in 2018.
Here is a snapshot of Blink Fitness’ successful year:
- Rapid Growth: Today, there are 64 gyms open and operating in four states. The brand has also signed development deals for an additional 45 gyms.
- New Markets: Blink Fitness entered Pennsylvania and California with the opening of gyms in Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The brand signed development deals to bring Blink Fitness to Massachusetts, Virginia, Upstate New York, Georgia, and parts of the Midwest, including Michigan and Illinois.
“It has been an incredible year in terms of growth both on the company-owned and franchise side,” said Todd Magazine, president of Blink Fitness. “Becoming a bi-coastal brand and signing franchise deals across the Midwest, South and Northeast were two giant steps toward reaching our five-year goal of 300 locations nationwide. We are thrilled with the progress we have made in the past year and feel that we have even better things coming in 2018.”
Looking ahead to 2018, the brand expects to have a total of 90 locations by year end - the majority of which will be company-owned, along with the first wave of franchisee-owned gyms. Blink Fitness will officially enter the six new major U.S. markets where it has signed development agreements, while continuing to expand its footprint in New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California.
