Cody’s Original Roadhouse Launches Florida Franchise Expansion Initiative

Looks to Double Statewide Presence Over the Next Five Years; Expand Into Other Parts of the Southeastern United States

January 22, 2018 // Franchising.com // TAMPA, Fla. - Cody’s Original Roadhouse - a full-service franchise restaurant featuring a casual dining environment reminiscent of the roadhouse restaurants popularized in rural settings during the 1940s and 1950s - has set its sights on further expansion throughout the Sunshine State.

With 16 locations already open and operating throughout west-central and north Florida, nearly one-third of which have opened in the past three years alone, the Tampa-based chain is looking to double its statewide presence over the next several years. Targeted markets include: Tampa Bay, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville and various parts of Southwest Florida.

The Florida growth plans are also part of a larger expansion initiative that calls for opening as many as 100 new stores throughout various parts of the southeastern United States over the next five years.

According to the company website, the Cody’s experience is personal, fun and unpretentious. The service is friendly, the food is fabulous and the atmosphere takes customers back to an era gone by when things were simpler, more casual and definitely more relaxed. In addition, the restaurant’s appeal to all age groups - young and old, families with children and seniors - has propelled the company’s growth thus far and will no doubt continue to do so well into the future.

Founded in 1994, Cody’s is a throwback to the comfortable family eateries that grew by the side of the road before the great highway expansion of the late 1950s. The restaurant prides itself on serving “Just Plain Good Food”® such as BBQ ribs, fresh hand cut steaks, chicken, fresh fish, burgers, fajitas, bottomless salad bowls and more. Guests of all ages come in and eat well, while being entertained with artifacts throughout the restaurant and an open kitchen where they can watch the flames licking at their fresh cut, USDA prime and choice steaks or see the chickens turning on the rotisserie. Tubs of roasted peanuts are also available throughout the restaurant for snackin’, crackin’ or throwin’ on the floor.

Both dine-in and carry out food service and a full-service bar is also offered.

The average restaurant occupies approximately 6,000 square feet of real estate, seats 250-300 customers and employs 75-100 people.

Including a franchise fee of $50,000, the total investment to own and operate a Cody’ franchise varies, but an estimated range is between $772,225 and $1,476,500.
