Home Care Assistance Teams Up With Episcopal Senior Communities to Provide Holistic, Personal Care to Life Plan Communities

New partnership will enable residents across six life plan communities to receive personalized, expert care

January 25, 2018 // Franchising.com // San Francisco, CA - Home Care Assistance, North America’s leading provider of in-home care, today announces its partnership with Episcopal Senior Communities (ESC), the largest non-profit operator of senior communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Now, residents at all six of ESC’s life plan communities, from Sonoma County to Pacific Grove, can access Home Care Assistance’s award-winning care programs.

“Home Care Assistance has a strong reputation in the Bay Area for quality and innovation,” said Ron Schaefer, Chief Operating Officer of Episcopal Senior Communities. “We really got to see their willingness to go above and beyond in the care and support they provided during the Northern California wildfires last fall. Not only did they provide tremendous caregiving resources to our residents, but they also helped us supply around-the-clock-care to our most vulnerable evacuees. We chose to partner with Home Care Assistance because of this willingness and their enduring commitment to improving overall health and well-being in older adults, not just to provide great care.”

In addition to scalable, professional management capabilities, care planning practices that honor each client’s needs and abilities, and holistic care philosophy, there are several distinct key benefits Home Care Assistance will provide the residents of Episcopal Senior Communities:

  • Consistent high-quality personal care for residents;
  • Seamless coverage should schedules or circumstances change;
  • Consistent communication between care providers and community staff;
  • Data shared to identify minor wellness issues before they become major health challenges;
  • Key quality metrics shared regularly.

As part of its preferred provider relationship, Home Care Assistance has acquired the home care business that ESC previously operated in its communities. Home Care Assistance will convert these services to be company-owned branch offices, staffed with the same client support and caregiver management teams found in any other Home Care Assistance location and providing the company’s evidence-based care approach known as the Balanced Care Method™.

“We’ve always admired Episcopal Senior Communities and the holistic experience they provide for their residents,” said Lily Sarafan, CEO of Home Care Assistance. “We are honored to be chosen as their preferred provider of home care services and we look forward to collaborating with them as part of our mission to change the way the world ages.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Sarafan said that as part of the partnership, Home Care Assistance will provide some financial support for Episcopal Senior Communities residents in need.
