Local Entrepreneur Forgoes Retirement and Opens Kumon Math and Reading Center of Dallas-Northaven to Give Back to the Community

TEANECK, N.J. - Feb. 6, 2018 // PRNewswire // - Sachin Pradhan experienced a remarkable 25-year career in architectural engineering and information technology. Wanting to take a break from corporate life, Pradhan decided to forgo the retirement option and instead start his own business that would focus on giving back to the community. That's when he recalled the success that his eldest son experienced in the Kumon Math and Reading Program and decided to open his own center in Dallas-Northaven.

"Kumon is not just about education, it gives children the fundamental skills to succeed in life," said Pradhan, owner and Instructor of Kumon Math and Reading Center of Dallas-Northaven. "Work skills, time management, willingness to tackle new challenges - these are all important characteristics I hope to nurture. If I have even one student come back and say 'Hey Kumon really helped me throughout my educational and professional career,' that will be the biggest achievement for me."

The Kumon Method empowers preschool to high school aged children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. It goes beyond traditional tutoring by actively developing critical thinking skills as children progress independently through a carefully crafted curriculum.

There are 140 Kumon Math and Reading Centers in the state of Texas, including 40 in Greater Dallas. The new center in Dallas-Northaven is part of Kumon's 2018 expansion plan of welcoming 100 new franchisees nationwide.

"Kumon has a rich history in Texas dating back over 30 years," said Larry Lambert, vice president of franchise recruitment at Kumon North America. "As parents continue to prioritize education opportunities outside of the classroom, Kumon is committed to delivering the highest quality of education to as many children as possible. We are looking forward to bringing the benefits of the Kumon Math and Reading Program to even more children in Greater Dallas."
