Bubbakoo’s Burritos Inks Deal to Bring the Jersey Shore Upstate

February 16, 2018 // Franchising.com // Point Pleasant, N.J. – Bubbakoo’s Burritos, a Jersey Shore-based eatery that touts Mexican food fused with American funkiness, is bringing its expansion northbound and has signed a development deal to open two restaurants in Northern New Jersey, with the first slated to open in summer 2018.

The announcement comes on the heels of the brand’s openings in Shrewsbury and Somerville, and the announcement of a development deal in Parsippany, New Jersey. With nearly 20 locations open and operating and a robust pipeline, Bubbakoo’s Burritos is looking to add 10 restaurants by the end of the year. The two-store agreement in North New Jersey is signed with serial entrepreneur Perry Patel, who will be joined by his business partner Fenil. The duo is eyeing Franklin Lakes and Morristown for the first location.

“You think that burrito joints can’t be that different from one another. As a customer of Bubbakoo’s Burritos, I can tell you that the brand is unique and not like any other competitor serves high-quality food and service,” said Patel. “I’ve always been an entrepreneur and I saw the ease of operations and knew I wanted to be a part of what Bubbakoo’s is doing. I’m thrilled to introduce the Franklin Lakes and Morristown communities to this unique, one-of-a-kind burrito experience.”

At age 15, after moving from India, Patel was inspired by his uncle, who opened his own business once in the United States. After graduating college, Patel opened three of his own convenience stores and gas stations. Later, he went on to open a Lapel’s Dry Cleaning on the Jersey Shore. It was his Lapel’s Dry Cleaning location that introduced him to Bubbakoo’s Burritos, as Patel would frequent the restaurant during lunch.

Bubbakoo’s Burritos offers the usual fast-casual burrito fare such as burritos, bowls, tacos, salad, nachos and quesadillas, but with 16 different protein options — including fried chicken, barbecue pork, Buffalo shrimp and grilled steak, as well as some more unusual flavors such as ghost pepper chicken and sriracha pork. Vegetarian options include a bean-cheese-guacamole combo and batter-fried jalapeños. And, originals such as The Chiwawa, a cheese-smothered, panko-crusted fried rice ball, keeps Bubbakoo’s faithfuls coming back.

Beyond the menu, Bubbakoo’s offers an environment like no other, with décor reflecting the eatery’s Shore roots, inviting guests to enjoy a host of regional beachside designs, and unmatched service standards that truly make the restaurants feel like home.

To augment the company’s growth, Bubbakoo’s Burritos is seeking passionate and experienced franchise partners. Including a franchise fee of $30,000, the initial investment to open a 1,700-2,00 square foot Bubbakoo’s Burritos restaurant is $161,000-$423,000.
