theCoderSchool Set to Open First Chicagoland Location

Silicon Valley-based children’s enterprise franchise comes to Highland Park

March 01, 2018 // Franchising.com // PALO ALTO, CALIF. - theCoderSchool - recently identified as one of Entrepreneur magazine’s hottest brands - has announced that a new school is set to open in mid-March in Highland Park, Ill. The school will aim to show the next generation of kids how inspiring and exciting technology can be, while providing coding skills that are in high demand and applicable across all industries.

The new school, located at 1929 Sheridan Road in Highland Park, will be the theCoderSchool’s first of several locations that owners Justin Brown and Chad Kreindler ultimately plan to open throughout the Chicagoland area in the coming years. With extensive experience in educational technology, the duo was drawn to theCoderSchool as a result of their strong belief in coding as a critical part of ensuring that the next generation learns how to think critically and logically.

“We are so excited to introduce theCoderSchool to Highland Park,” said Kreindler, who has spent the last nine years in EdTech. “Coders and programmers are sorely needed in this country right now, and that’s certainly true here in the North Shore. We use a 2-on-1, project-based coaching approach to fill a long-existing void - getting kids involved with coding at a young age and having lots of fun, while improving ideation and creative thinking skills.”

Founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng, theCoderSchool was built with the desire to provide children aged 7 to 18 years with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills. theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript and more. Every Code Coaching lesson is customized with the help of trained Code Coaches® who use a 2-on-1 approach to teaching.

“For Wayne and I, the goal of theCoderSchool has always been to set girls and boys up with a positive, lifelong relationship with tech and coding in every market we enter. We’ve been humbled by the great feedback we’ve received from parents and kids from coast to coast, and we can’t wait to see the same following throughout Chicagoland as we continue to expand,” noted Lynn. “Our main priority when identifying and building relationships with franchise partners is to find those who are truly passionate about our mission and values and are thrilled to have found that with Chad and Justin.”

theCoderSchool is also a proud founding member of the International Alliance of Youth Coding Educators. The IAYCE is an alliance of global partners whose goal is to further coding education for youth around the world.
