Kumon Math and Reading of Brier Creek Now Serving the Communities of Raleigh and Durham

March 06, 2018 // Franchising.com // MORRISVILLE, N.C. - Christina Ndoh worked in the engineering industry for twenty years, but it was in the last two years while teaching environmental studies at local universities that she developed a passion for education. Realizing she wanted a career change, she recalled the success her own two children saw in the Kumon Math and Reading Program. When researching Kumon as a business option, she quickly saw the benefits offered were far superior to most educational franchises and ultimately decided to open Kumon Math and Reading Center of Brier Creek.

“I saw first-hand how my children developed the necessary foundational skills and increased confidence in their ability to master math and reading skills with the Kumon Program,” said Ndoh, owner and Instructor of Kumon Math and Reading Center of Brier Creek. “But beyond the academics, I also want to make sure I’m cultivating the intangibles with my students. I want to focus on their life-long learning skills by helping them become confident independent learners.”

The Kumon Method empowers preschool to high school aged children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. It goes beyond traditional tutoring by actively developing critical thinking skills as children progress independently through a carefully crafted curriculum.

There are 32 Kumon Math and Reading Centers in the state of North Carolina, including 12 in Greater Raleigh. Kumon Math and Reading of Brier Creek is part of Kumon’s 2018 expansion plan of welcoming 100 new franchisees nationwide.

“We are fortunate for the opportunity to expand in the Raleigh-Durham area with the addition of Kumon of Brier Creek,” said Larry Lambert, vice president of franchise recruitment at Kumon North America. “As parents continue to seek out education opportunities outside of the classroom, we are looking forward to bringing the Kumon Method to even more families in the community.”

The Kumon Method empowers children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. Kumon sparks critical thinking, establishes a pattern of success and builds confidence that can lead to accelerated learning throughout life.
