NTY Clothing Exchange Opens First Location in Tennessee

Emerging Resale Brand’s New Store in Knoxville is Fifth Franchise Location

April 18, 2018 // Franchising.com // MINNETONKA, Minn. - NTY Clothing Exchange, a national teen and young adult resale clothing franchise headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota, recently opened their first location in Tennessee and fifth nationwide.

NTY Clothing Exchange of Knoxville, Tennessee (10420 Kingston Pike Suite J, Knoxville, TN 37922), opened for consumer sales on April 12, 2018, in the Lovell Heights Shopping Center. It is the third upscale resale clothing franchise brand from NTY Franchise Company, the parent firm of Clothes Mentor and Children’s Orchard.

“We’re hoping for big things from NTY Clothing Exchange in Knoxville and nationally,” Chad Olson, Chief Operating Officer of NTY Franchise Company, said. “Teens and young people are passionate about the green economy and finding high fashion at a resale price, so we expect this brand will follow the successful growth trend of our other resale clothing franchises.”

Franchise owners Robert and Jen Lebus were turned on to NTY Franchise Company by family friend Adam Scott, owner of the local Clothes Mentor franchise in Knoxville. Robert was immediately impressed with the business model.

“The financials for NTY Clothing Exchange are terrific. What’s great about it for me is that many of the items we resell would be out of reach for our customers here if they were trying to buy it new, either because of cost or because the brand wasn’t sold here. I love how excited people are to see what we have available and the price they’ll be paying. They leave happy and assuring me that they’ll be back.”

For Jen, the appeal hit closer to home.

“Robert and I have teenagers ourselves, so we know how fast they go through clothes. The resale concept was really easy for us to relate to because we are living it,” she said.

Resale apparel is enjoying a $20 billion boom that began during the great recession and continues today as consumers flock to stores like NTY Clothing Exchange to buy and sell their gently-used teen and young adult fashions. Now growing a whopping 24 times faster than retail, recent reports project that the resale apparel market will grow to more than $41 billion by 2022.

About NTY Clothing Exchange

One of the newer franchises started in 2014, NTY Clothing Exchange is just expanding to its fifth store in 2018. The franchise fills an important need that hasn’t been addressed in many communities: A high end, resale clothing store that buys and sells apparel and accessories just for teens and young adults, both male and female. Young adults and teens are often still students or just starting a new career, and they need to be able to change their style to fit their needs. All of this is done on a very limited budget. This limitation means a great franchise concept. The opportunity to grow as more people enter into this market is even bigger for the business owner.

About NTY Franchise Company

Founded in 2006 by Ron Olson, NTY Franchise Company is the gold standard in resale franchising companies. NTY franchises five brands, all with a different focus: Clothes Mentor, Children’s Orchard, Device Pitstop, New Uses, and NTY Clothing Exchange. The brands are all resale-based and cover women’s designer fashions, children’s apparel and accessories, furniture and household goods, electronic sales and repair, and clothing for teens and young adults. All are great business opportunities with cutting-edge technology, unmatched support, and lucrative resale franchises. NTY Franchise Company has helped individuals to establish resale stores throughout the United States in many communities, and it has territories available to develop nationwide.
