Dog Haus Launches Ilan Hall’s ‘Huli-Huli’ As Next Item In Year-Long Chef Collaboration Series

Hawaiian-Inspired Sausage Available at all Dog Haus Stores May 1st with $1.00 From the Sale of Each Benefiting No Kid Hungry

April 23, 2018 // Franchising.com // Pasadena, CA - Dog Haus, the critically acclaimed gourmet hot dog, sausage and burger concept, announced Top Chef Season 2 winner Ilan Hall (Ramen Hood) as the newest chef to join the year-long collaboration series which raises money for No Kid Hungry, furthering their mission to end childhood hunger in America. For the series, Dog Haus has enlisted eight nationally celebrated chefs representing regions of the country in which Dog Haus has locations, each of whom is creating limited time menu items to be served at all Dog Haus stores throughout the year.

“Ilan intuitively knows how to bring unique ingredients together to create dishes that are surprising, bursting with flavor and incredibly memorable,” said Hagop Giragossian, Dog Haus Partner. “He helped us launch our first fried chicken sandwich last summer, and now he’s back to blow our minds again.”

Each chef works closely with the Dog Haus culinary team to craft a menu item available for two months at a time. $1 of the purchase price from each of these items will be donated to No Kid Hungry and Dog Haus’ 2018 goal is to raise $100,000 for the organization. To help raise additional funds for No Kid Hungry, Dog Haus has also added a round up for charity option, allowing guests the ability to round up their bill to the nearest dollar through the end of the year.

For the months of May and June, all Dog Haus stores will offer East Coaster Ilan Hall’s ‘Huli-Huli’ which features a Huli-Huli chicken & pork sausage topped with sweet ginger glaze, bouillonnaise, pineapple & jalapeño relish, crispy fried onions and scallions; served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls. Guests who attended the South Beach Wine & Food Festival earlier this year were able to get a culinary sneak peek of the Huli-Huli, where this Hawaiian-inspired sausage won the Judges’ Choice Award at the King’s Hawaiian Taste of Aloha and Art of Tiki Cocktail Showdown. The summertime availability of the sausage also perfectly coincides with Hawaiian Foods Week, which celebrates the delicious flavors and cultural heritage of the Hawaiian Islands from Sunday, June 10th through Saturday, June 16th.

“My goal as a chef has always been to create outside-the-box dishes that not only push boundaries, but also encourage diners to experiment with new flavors they may not be familiar with,” said Ilan Hall, Executive Chef of Ramen Hood. “What I love about working with Dog Haus is that they are just as interested in creating unique fusions of flavor as I am, and that is exactly what the Huli-Huli is. I can’t wait to show Dog Haus fans what we’ve cooked up for them!”

Throughout the rest of the year, customers can continue to expect to see items debut from a stellar list of renowned chefs. Starting in July, Colorado’s Alex Seidel of Mercantile and Fruition in Denver will put his creativity to the test and beginning in September, Texas’ very own Dean Fearing, often referred to as the “Father of Southwestern Cuisine” and chef/owner of Fearing’s Restaurant, will craft a creation of his own. To conclude the campaign, Los Angeles chef Chris Oh of Seoul Sausage Co, Hanjip and EsCaLa, will offer a collaborative item running in November to close out the year, alongside a sweet creation from pastry chef and TV personality Duff Goldman of Duff’s Cake Mix and Charm City Cakes.

To celebrate the series and continue its efforts to help No Kid Hungry end childhood hunger in America, Dog Haus will be hosting a silent auction and charity event bringing together the culinary talent, public and key No Kid Hungry representatives. Dog Haus Cares 2018 will be held at Santa Anita racetrack’s iconic and exclusive Chandelier Room in December.
